Is this service just for individuals, or can caregivers or family members be involved?
Caregivers, family members, and household members are always welcome to be part of the process. In fact, it’s often helpful to hear different perspectives to create solutions that work for everyone involved.
What is a discovery call?
A discovery call is a free, no obligation phone call where you learn more about our service, and we learn more about your unique situation and challenges. Additionally, you are welcome to include caregivers, household members, and other family members in this call.
Is a referral needed to book a consultation?
Because no referral is needed, anyone interested in making their home or the home of someone they love more supportive and accessible is welcome to reach out directly to get started.
Can I set up a consultation for myself to better understand how I can support someone else?
Absolutely! A Caregiver Solutions consultation can provide guidance and support to help you assist your loved one, even if they’re not ready to participate.
Are cognitive or memory-related needs, like dementia, also considered?
Definitely. Home environments can have a big impact on comfort and safety for those experiencing memory loss or cognitive changes. That’s why we tailor consultation suggestions to meet those needs.
What happens during a consultation?
During a consultation, we focus on understanding your needs – whether related to the home, daily activities, or a specific concern. Depending on the situation, we may walk through the space, talk through routines, and include input from caregivers or family members if they’d like to participate. From there, we recommend practical changes to support comfort, access, and independence.
Will a written summary of recommendations be provided afterward?
Following the visit, we’ll provide a written summary of recommendations. Depending on your needs, this may include layout suggestions, helpful products, or next steps. We design each summary to be easy to understand and ready to act on.
How much does a consultation cost?
Costs depend on the size of the home and the areas you’d like us to focus on. We’ll discuss pricing during your free, no-obligation discovery call.
Is this covered by insurance or assistance programs?
Insurance doesn’t cover the cost of the consultation itself. However, depending on your situation, there may be funding available through local programs or support agencies to help with some of the recommended modifications or equipment. We’re happy to help you explore those options whenever possible.
Can help be provided in finding products or professionals to make changes?
Yes, we will provide you with a list of recommended products and professionals so you can implement the solutions yourself, or we can oversee implementation for an additional fee. The cost depends on the scope and complexity of the solutions.
Do solutions have to be implemented all at once?
If needed, solutions can be implemented in phases. To support that approach, we’ll help you prioritize recommendations based on your needs, goals, and what’s most practical to address first.
How is this different from a visit with an occupational therapist?
Unlike occupational therapy, our service isn’t medical and doesn’t require a diagnosis, referral, or insurance documentation. We focus on everyday function and comfort in the home, and we provide practical suggestions you can put into place right away. It’s a flexible, real-world approach for individuals or families looking for support without going through a clinical process.
